Exploration and Production

Mustang Fuel Corporation began its exploration and production efforts in 1971 with a successful well completion in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. Since then, Mustang has participated in thousands of wells across several states and is the current operator of over 250 properties. It also owns non-operated interest in more than 1,500 other properties and controls more than 100,000 acres of undeveloped leasehold through Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

Mustang employs a balanced approach to achieving continued oil and natural gas reserve growth through a prudent mix of exploration, development  and acquisition, and through its pursuit of both oil and natural gas. Mustang’s experienced technical staff of engineers, geologists, geophysicists, and landmen are also capable of evaluating opportunities in a variety of geological provinces for exploration potential.

Applying traditional methods and new technologies, the professional staff in Mustang’s Exploration and Production group continues to develop prospects throughout its historical areas of interest in the Arkoma, Anadarko and Marietta Basins of Oklahoma, the Salina Basin and Central Uplift in Kansas, and the Uinta Basin in Utah. With its financial strength, operational experience and streamlined decision making, Mustang takes pride in its well earned reputation as an excellent industry partner.
